D. Betsy McCoach is an assistant professor in the Educational Psychology Department in the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut, where she teaches graduate courses in measurement, educational statistics, and research design.  Betsy’s areas of substantive research interest include the closing the achievement gap, the underachievement of academically able students, and motivation.  Her methodological research interests include hierarchical linear modeling, instrument design and analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modeling, latent growth modeling, and quantitative research methodology.
